Cardon Construction awarded contract for new care home wing
Cardon Construction has successfully won the contract to develop a new wing at Villa Scalabrini Care Home in Hertfordshire in the form of a large 4-storey rear extension.
Cardon Construction has worked on numerous projects across the UK including England’s first hydrogen bus refuelling facility and will be carrying out excavation, remodelling, and structural works from the basement to the second floor to accommodate a new dining room, office, 10 extra residents’ bedroom, and living rooms along with a new medicine room.
John Carrig, Managing Director, Cardon Construction said “We are pleased to have been appointed on the construction of the new wing at Villa Scalabrini, working alongside an excellent and talented project team.
The remodelling works and extension will include everything from excavation and building reinforcement to drainage works, which is one of our specialties. Work has now commenced at the site, and the final product will see a brand-new wing for the care home to provide the vital space needed for the residents and staff.”
The structural and refurbishment works are set to last for 36 weeks, with a project value of circa £1.7m.
